Maharashtra Reports 111 New Covid-19 Cases and No Fresh Fatalities in Last 24 Hours

On Saturday, Maharashtra state in India recorded 111 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of infections to 81,68,328, according to the state’s health department. No new fatalities were reported during the last 24 hours, and the death toll remained at 1,48,542. Currently, the state has only 1,032 active cases. Mumbai, the state’s capital, had 28 fresh cases, taking the total number of infections in the city to 11,62,580, with a death toll of 19,769. Of the deceased since January 1, 2023, 75% were above 60 years of age, and 85% had comorbidities. During the week from May 7 to May 13, Maharashtra recorded 967 Covid-19 cases, which is a decrease compared to the previous week when 1,876 infections were reported between April 30 and May 6. The state’s cumulative number of recoveries rose to 80,18,819, with 176 patients discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours. The state’s Covid-19 recovery rate is 98.17%, and the fatality rate is 1.81%. Maharashtra has conducted a total of 8,70,89,039 tests so far, with 7,177 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, including tests conducted at government and private laboratories and self-testing kits.
