“All about attention,” according to Gambhir, igniting a heated argument with Sreesanth after his accusation of being a “fixer.”

During a Legends League Cricket match on Thursday, veteran Indian bowler Sreesanth claimed that his former colleague Gautam Gambhir had called him a “fixer”. The Indian Capitals and Gujarat Giants were playing in an elimination match when the two cricket players got into a heated argument that needed to be broken up by the umpire. The Indian Supreme Court lowered Sreesanth’s life ban from the BCCI in 2019 due to his suspected participation in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing incident to seven years.

Sreesanth went live from his official Instagram page and stated, “He kept calling me ‘fixer, you are a fixer, f*** off you fixer on live television on the center wicket.”

Read also: “On live television, he insisted on calling me a fixer” “UMpire tried to control Gambhir but,” Sreesanth discloses.

“I simply said, ‘What are you saying?’ and laughed sarcastically the whole time. When the umpires attempted to restrain him, he conversed with them in the same language, he continued.

Intriguingly, Gambhir’s first public tweet after the argument was a mysterious one. Gambhir posted a picture of himself wearing an Indian jersey along with the message, “Smile when the world is all about attention!” on his official X account.

Gambhir’s accusation of being a “fixer” against the former India bowler worsened the situation, according to Sreesanth, who had previously said that he didn’t utter any “bad words.”

As for me, I didn’t say anything offensive. Guys, please stand up for the truth. He’s been doing it with several individuals. It was the end of the over, and I’m not sure why he began it.

“At now, his supporters assert that while he said “sixer,” “unhone bola you fixer, tu fixer hai” (his supporters believe he said “sixer,” but he meant “you are a fixer”). That’s not how you speak. Even if his people are attempting to help him, I’m debating leaving this event here. Please do not fall for further paid public relations efforts, Sreesanth continued.

Gambhir has previously been engaged in altercations on the pitch. During the IPL, he and Virat Kohli have sparred on a few occasions. One such instance occurred earlier this year during Royal Challengers Bangalore’s match against Lucknow Super Giants.
