ENG vs IND: Zaheer Khan Claims that Rohit Sharma is a “Proven Leader” who “Walks the Talk.”

Rohit Sharma is a leader who “walks the talk,” according to former India left-arm bowler Zaheer Khan, who also expressed confidence that the “Hitman” would make significant contributions as both a batsman and skipper in the next five-Test series against England.

According to a remark by Zaheer on JioCinema, “Everyone is aware of the influence and impact that Rohit has had on the entire group.”

A five-match Test series between India and England will start on January 25 in Hyderabad and continue to Visakhapatnam (February 2–6), Rajkot (February 15–19), Ranchi (February 23–27), and Dharamshala (March 7–11).

Zaheer said that Rohit’s strong communication skills are a defining feature of his leadership.

He discusses communication. He pulls out the best in each player by giving them just the right amount of confidence.

“He leads from the front, as seen throughout the World Cup, and that has been the characteristic of his leadership. He does what he preaches.

“Having a leader who demonstrates their leadership qualities improves group efficiency as a whole. He is, in my opinion, a proven leader.

Since assuming the position of opener in Test matches, Rohit has had considerable success, including clutch hundreds in difficult circumstances.

“You’ve seen how well he’s adjusted to dropping the ball in England. He claimed to have put in a lot of effort on it,” Zaheer said.

“He made a knock that ended the game in Chennai, as you have witnessed. Any player competing at the greatest level finds joy in winning the toss, choosing to bat first, and helping to totally outscore the opponent in the first innings.

Thus, he has also had that type of influence. This series (versus England) will have something on such lines. Given that this is a five-match Test series, he will be thinking a lot both as a leader and as a batter.

In order to choose how to rotate players, he must consult with Rahul Dravid and the selectors.

Both sides will strive to do that, according to Zaheer, since a five-test series presents unique difficulties that must be managed strategically in order to maximize the influence of each player and plan whose resources are most valuable under what circumstances.

On Thursday, the series versus England gets underway in Hyderabad.
