Indian Player Scores a Century Against the Lions of England and Gives It To Lord Ram

Indian wicket-keeper batsman KS Bharat came roaring back to form, showcasing his playing XI selection and scoring a century to signal his intentions ahead of the England Test series. In a practice Test match against the England Lions, Bharat struck 116 off 165 balls as India A attempted to reach the 490-run goal. Bharat had a significant impact with the bat, even if his century wasn’t enough to carry the side to victory—India A was still 64 runs shy of the mark. In addition, Bharat created a magnificent celebration, dedicating the ton to Lord Ram, upon obtaining the triple-digit score.

Bharat’s strongest supporter, head coach Rahul Dravid, who has been confident in playing the Andhra player in Tests despite his poor batting record, will be very relieved by his century as India looks to relieve KL Rahul of the burden of taking wickets.

On the third evening, Manav Suthar, who had entered as the night watchman, amassed a resilient 89 from 254 balls with 16 boundaries, 10 of which came off left-arm spinner Callum Parkinson (3/182).

Although B Sai Sudharsan (97 off 208 balls) was not able to reach a century, the Bharath-Suthar combination made the most of the flat surface, scoring 207 runs in 54.5 overs to establish an unbroken sixth wicket partnership. Sudharsan, a left-hander, was the sole wicket to fall that day.

Josh Bohanon, the England Lions captain, bowled mostly with his spinners on the last day, Parkinson and Jack Carson, an off-break bowler (0/74 in 21 overs).

Nine of Bharat’s fifteen fours, which were predominantly on the on-side, came off the two spinners, demonstrating his strength on both sides. Suthar proved to be a capable ally for him; by teatime, even the England Lions realized they had missed their chance to win a first-class match on an Indian track.
